June has been a good month.  Jennifer, Sarah, Claire, and Emma came for a nice visit during which we went to Orange Beach.  We played in the surf and sand and putt putt golf and rode a Ferris wheel.

Then the little boys came for a nice visit.  No one swam because it was raining one day and the water was cold the next day.  They DID play in the rain and “styled” their hair to look like rock stars.

Buck and I finally went fishing ~ I caught the first one and he went on to catch two more.  He cleaned them, I will cook them.  It was a good day.

Hello!
It’s the middle of May ~ WHAT HAPPENED??  Well, let’s see....

I flew to Colorado for L2L in Denver with Jennifer, Sarah, Claire, and Emma.  While staying in the hotel, my travel coffee cup AND my contact case went missing.... go figure!

Topher had a birthday and now he is SEVENTEEN!
Greyson lost his first tooth.

I am trying to get the yard cleaned up after the winter (when I did NOTHING in the yard).  I am tired a lot, ready for bed early, and still dealing with Mother ~ who is 89 and thinks EVERYTHING is about her.  She is my example of how NOT to be.

In other news....Buck saw his endocrinologist and got an outstanding report.  He is seeing his cardio/rhythm doctor tomorrow, fingers crossed things are well.

Good morning!  I am a Taurus.
Yesterday I pondered when is the right time to blog?
Should I do it on Sunday with a preview of my week
Or on Saturday with a recap of my week?
Obviously, I did not make a decision
Because today is a MONDAY
Go figure ~ right?!

Today is my birthday. I talked to all three of my children and all seven of my grandchildren.  I went to lunch with my husband.  It has been a good day.

Tomorrow I will travel to Lisa’s house to stay with the little boys while she and Nicole work.  They don’t ask much of me and I’m happy to get some time with them.  I want them to know how much I love them.

Next week I will travel to Jennifer’s house to spend some time with the girls.  They come to Alabama once a year but that doesn’t seem enough for them to remember how much I love them so I travel to them.

The big boys don’t want to spend the night with us anymore but I’ve been to many sports events for them and they used to enjoy staying over night. They have outgrown that but they know I love them.

I know I will never be “the grandmother” to any of our grandchildren.  Jakob and Christopher have Shirley,  Sarah, Claire, and Emma have Linda, and Greyson and Briggs have Vicky.  I am okay being the second string as long as they know me and know they hold special places in my heart.

Okay ~ I’m done being sappy....

Have a good sleep ~ and good night

Shortly after the last post our sweet Mac past away during the night.  I buried him out close to the garden.  Buck has a new dog now named Johnny Boy ~ a name he remembers from his days in Springfield, Missouri before the family moved to Florida.

Mac always enjoys it when the boys come to visit (they give him extra snacks)
In all the house ~ the kitchen where I am seems to be the place to be.

Today is our daughter Lisa’s birthday.
Hoping to see her today.

Saturday, February 9, 2019

Emma and Greyson are both in kindergarten this year.  They celebrated 100 days of school recently.
Emma lives in Windsor, Colorado and dressed as a 100 year old woman for her celebration.  (Hope I look that good when I’m 100)
Greyson lives in Calera, Alabama and went another route.  His mom printed a photo of him and cut it into 100 pieces.  He wanted 100 photos ~ so this was a compromise.

Happy February and Happy Valentine’s Day to this guy right here!  Buck and I have celebrated 47 Valentine Days together.  Here’s to many more.  I love you!!

Today I’m feeling a little empty so I thought this photo was appropriate.  My mother called this morning with her “pitiful” voice.  Asking me to come bring her paper in without actually ASKING... ya’ know?  She is 89 and many people think that is wonderful but for those of us that take care of her it can be burdensome (is that a word). I just want her to TRY.... try to get up ~ try to get dressed ~ try to DO something for herself.

Okay ~ I’m done

Today is our daughter’s birthday.
She lives in Windsor, Colorado.
Wish I could be there to bake her a cake.

Birds of a feather flock together but looks like I may be the heaviest in my flock.
NOT GOOD!

Veteran’s Day in America Buck and Chuck were Navy Seabees,  Their dad was Navy Fleet.  Apparently VERY different.  Had to get some work done...
