Camp Aletheia

Aletheia is a Greek word meaning disclosure or truth.  The young people of Windsor Church of Christ studied through last winter at Camp Aletheia.  In May they challenged
the grown ups of the congregation to a "battle".
(Guess who won?!)
 Time to prepare
 Sarah is a bible warrior
 Claire was only "slightly" distracted
She is READY
My contribution was the balloon drop
while Jennifer decorated
Family and friends dined on salad, pizza, and cupcakes
The tables were decorated and M&Ms were scattered down the middle
Jennifer and the "servers"
They were polite and eager
The children dined in another room
so WE wouldn't bother them?
Is that a TWO minute warning OR
Victory Sign??

There was an emcee ~ with a Vanna
and another Vanna on the other side of the stage

One Dad tried looking up the answers on his phone!!!!

Claire took her turn at the bell....
as did Felicity and Blaine
Sarah was part of the "dirty mouth" commercial
Blaine was the piggy who cried wee wee wee
Sarah helped answer the BONUS question
and then it was time to celebrate....

Thanks to Jennifer Willenbrecht and Kellie Hughett for all their hard work.
Plans are already being made for next year!
I am going on another trip ~ this time to Panama City Beach , Florida.  Topher is participating in the 9-U World Series there.  Taking my camera and you will be hearing from me again.

VIP day and Mayfair

Sarah's class had VIP day and I was honored to be her VIP.
Sarah introduced the skit her group did ....
a rhyming game using their names.
You can see there were MANY cameras flashing.
After a nice picnic lunch on the school lawn we went outside for recess.
I followed Sarah and friends around the playground.
There's just something about a bar that makes you wanna hang upside down!
This is Sarah's twin for the day,
alas I have forgotten her name!
After recess we got to go inside for bathroom break, water, whatever....THEN it was time for MAYFAIR!!
Jennifer worked the TicTacToe booth for Sarah's class
This guy "dressed up" for Mayfair Day.
Nothing like donut on a string
(no hands allowed)
almost got it....
 SUCCESS!!
Sarah won a prize for how high she could kick
Claire raced a friend in the duck pond

Claire tried the donut on a string
almost got it....
YUM!
Kid size "drink pong"
Pin the smile on the happy face. . . .
Is she peeking????

A fish, a horse, and a snake OH MY

Kim and family went fishing recently.  While most people try to catch "the big one", they were vying for the title of SMALLEST FISH CAUGHT.  This is Kim's entry into that contest.  Alas, she was beaten by Topher when he pulled in a smaller one. (picture not available)
I was on my way out the other day and SURPRISE!! There was a horse on the side of the road happily munching on the overgrown grass.  I stopped, he looked up at me as if to say "WHAT?!?"  I snapped a quick one and left him to his grazing.
Christian and Caleb spent the night with Jakob and Topher recently.  The boys went outside, as boys will do and they found this snake on the Wilson carport.  Christian killed it with a hoe and they measured it ~ about 31 inches!!!!  Thank goodness it wasn't poisonous.
OH MY!!!!

Veteran’s Day in America Buck and Chuck were Navy Seabees,  Their dad was Navy Fleet.  Apparently VERY different.  Had to get some work done...
