I served with a Chuck Nibler and his twin brother Buck in Danang, Vietnam in 1970 with the Seabees. By any chance was your Chuck the same one? They were from Tallahassee, Florida, if I remember correctly.

I came back to your blog and was scrolling through the stories and photos. This was the Chuck and Buck Nibler that I served with. I am so sorry that Chuck has passed away. I really liked him and Buck too. I don't know if he ever told you the story of his thumb getting smashed on the fork truck, but I was driving it. He was riding in the big wooden box on the forks as he picked plumbing components out of shelves in the yard, just so we wouldn't have to pull the whole lot down to get one or two items. As I was letting the box down to the ground, he had his hand on the upright and his thumb was sandwiched between two plates on the boom. It wasn't a pretty sight, but it healed up and looked good afterward. If you are interested, I have some photos (if I can locate them) of the two of them from that time. When I first met them, I couldn't tell them apart. After a month or so it was easy. Even their voices had just enough difference I could tell them apart. Give Buck my regards and my condolences for the loss of his brother. I can imagine it must have been tough losing a twin brother.

Veteran’s Day in America Buck and Chuck were Navy Seabees,  Their dad was Navy Fleet.  Apparently VERY different.  Had to get some work done...
