Ever been to a pin exchange/opening ceremony for the USSSA baseball World Series? Not me! Each team comes prepared with pins representing their team and they run around a football field exchanging them with the other teams in their age group. Sounds simple, yes?? Not so much. The trick is to be quick and enlist the help of your parents so that you get ALL of the teams in your age group BEFORE someone else from your team gets them.... some people didn't want duplicates. That's where strategy comes into play. If you have an EXTRA from one team you can "negotiate" with other players and eventually end up with all the pins your towel will hold.
I opted for a tee shirt and shorts for the "event"
thank goodness, cause it was RAINING!
Topher stalked his prey...
YEA he got one!!!!
Back to Mom to check his list
The pin towel
Curry Yellow Jackets ROCK
After a brief rain delay the opening ceremony went off without a hitch (okay, I missed it 'cause I opted to go sit in the EX) but it was quick and then we were off to....
Captain Anderson's Seafood
where we celebrated Kim's birthday
(that's a virgin pina colada)
When the girls were younger we owned a time share in Panama City Beach and going to Captain Anderson's was a tradition. Wish we still had that condo! Later we tracked down an Alvin's Island (tourist/souvenirs). The big one we always went to is in disrepair now but still open .... kind of sad to see it falling apart.
The alligator was still there waiting for a pose like this one from
Topher (up top) and Jakob (below)
The Wilson Family
And what USED to be Miracle Strip Amusement Park
now a parking lot!!

Oh, Thanks for the pics! It is sad that the alvins is not looking so great. I loved going there. And I can't believe the parking lot. I guess beach cities don't have to have an amusement park but they sure are nice!
