Is your spouse in the house?
Ever been locked out of your own house? It happened to me yesterday. Buck and I were outside working in the shop. I decided to take the pool ladder off since we had talked about closing it soon. I heard him close the shop door and even SAW him putting the dogs back in the kennel. I thought he saw me too ~ NOT. When I came down off the deck and loaded the ladder onto my back, little did I expect to round the corner of the house and find the garage door down. . . . Not only down but LOCKED! Thank goodness I had my cell phone on me. After he answered and I explained I was outside we both had a good laugh and he came to let me in. So please be careful and make sure all of your family members are in the house BEFORE you lock up.

Karma Kame Knocking
where the watermelon USE to be!
Buck likes to regale the children and now the grandchildren with some of his escapades from his youth. . . . like stealing a truckload of watermelons with his friends. After they decided there was NO WAY they were going to be able to eat them all and that if they took them home they would be in BIG TROUBLE they rode down the road throwing them out and watching them burst! Now isn't that a funny story????
We have a small garden this year. It started out great. We killed the weeds, tilled the ground, planted, and waited. We got cucumbers for pickles (yum) and WAY TOO MANY radishes (but also yum), the wildlife enjoyed the corn (deer, raccoon, and crow), and after I cut bamboo and made little tee pees for the beans to run up Buck told me they aren't his favorite!!!! The Lima beans plants were pretty ~ but no beans, our tomatoes were non-existent, and the cantaloupe ripened while we were away and were mushy. That left us with watermelon. . . . SOMEONE STOLE OUR WATERMELONS! To whoever took them ~ I hope you choke on a seed. I guess it is true ~ Karma is a B**ch.

Jakob is TEN!
Contrary to what Lisa believed ~ Jakob turned 10 yesterday. I had to get in touch with Skoot so he could verify that fact before she would believe me! School started yesterday but Kim and the boys took time to stop by the house for a few minutes. Between school and ball practice I guess the days of them coming over to play are going to be few and far between. But I digress. . . yesterday was Jakob's birthday and Buck even made it home in time to see him before they had to hustle off to practice. (They even squeezed in a short video game time). LOL

Cake and body art
The last remnants of birthday cake were just as good as the first slices. Sarah and Claire got to finish it off on Monday before we left. As you can see they were totally enjoying it. After supper Jennifer pulled out the body crayons and the girls went "nuts" with their art. I have to admit I was tempted to apply a little temporary tattoo to myself. It was a good ending to a day of shopping. (P.S. The crayons are washable and most of it came off before bedtime) I think we should have waited until Granddad was sleeping and do a little artwork on him. . . .maybe next time?
Happy Birthday Jakob
Happy Birthday Charles Jakob Wilson!

Skinny dippin'
Look at that innocent face!
What is it about being naked? Yesterday I went swimming with Jakob. It was a nice day, the water felt great, we were having a good time. . . . Jakob was jumping up and down in the water when "OOPS!? His trunks fell off" After we laughed about it ~ I allowed him to 'skinny dip' for a while with the stipulation that he stay on the oppposite side of the pool from me. We talked about my dad ~ his great grandfather who has shared with us the stories of skinny dipping in the creek with his brothers and friends. They would throw water on the creek bank to make it slick then slide down NAKED into the creek. I have told Daddy I am glad he didn't slide over a rock or some other object sticking out of the ground. . . . I may not be here today if he had ~ OUCH!

We're Back!
Buck and I drove about 3,378 miles over the last week. We left here ~ went to Jennifer's in Colorado ~ left there and went to Springfield to visit Grace ~ left there and went to Indianapolis to look at a truck the company Buck works for may buy ~ then back to Alabama. People ~ let me tell you ~ my tush was tired!
I have several photos to share but frankly I'm just not feeling "creative" this morning. Jakob and Toper are with me today and I am trying to get the laundry done. Also, Lisa was here while we were away "caring for the dogs" but she also cleaned out the pantry and fridge so groceries are a must have today.
I will get back to the blog soon.
Kiss Kiss
